Julie, Thank you! I don't know if you have ever been to Northern Maine, but to go there on a whim in March is a little crazy. I was very lucky to get the light and calm water that I did for these shots. Thanks for recognizing just what I saw in the image.
Beautiful. I loved in Eastport, Maine for 3 years and looked across the bay at Lubec every day. Know Lubec quite well. :) Gigi Irvine April 24, 2011 08:06 PM Well loved and lived in Eastport :)
Joan H., Gigi, IcyBc and Scanner, thank you for the views and compliments. Great to have new viewers, too. Where are you now, Gigi? Though I know Maine will clearly be always in your heart!
When you look at the tranquil trio, it's hard to believe that the people who work the ocean in these sturdy little craft labour hard and long and dangerous hours. Thank you Chrissie Pissie April 26, 2011 09:54 PM
Chris and Chrissie, Thank you. Believe me, it's not calm like that very often. Where those boats were moored is the water between Maine and Canada. The North Atlantic is one of the most dangerous seas to work, bested by the Bering Sea of Deadliest Catch fame.
Deer Passion and Andy, thanks so much for the views and comments and compliments. I bet the folks who live there wish it was that calm all of the time.
Stunning image, Robin! Lovely reflections. This photograph brings about feelings of peace and serenity. You have captured the scene beautifully!
