  2. this is an unusual bird picture, usually photos show the wings flapped down but this one also is so symmetriy of the wings with the body and the clenched claws add drama and power to it. Thi picture to me seems more like 'power' than about 'flight'. Rated with love.

  5. Hovering by "flying in place" rather than gliding at zero speed is not something a lot of hawks do. The Marsh Hawk often does this, flying low to the ground and then stopping in mid-air, hovering, deciding whether to dive. It's spectacular and you've caught it perfectly!
