  1. eileeninmd, thank you very much. I'm wondering if since we have had such a warm and ealy spring if they will show up sooner than years past. I'm hoping! I've already got the nectar feeders cleaned and ready.

  6. When you can capture their expression, it's always a smile to see how they take what they are doing so seriously.

  10. Linnnn, chicken and Algis, thanks to you all for the views, rates and comments. I just love these little guys. We only have one kind here regularly in the summer and I can't hardly wait for them to arrive!

  11. Lovely image, Robin! My ornamental crab apple tree is showing some early leaves, but I wouldn't expect Ruby-throated Hummingbirds to come a whole month early. Make sure you take a photo if you see one this early and submit it to eBird for documentation.

  12. Hilke, ABSOLUTELY! I am a dedicated eBird poster, too. So, not to worry, if I see them, they go into Cornell's data base. But, if they showed up today, the poor little things would freeze in mid air. And, I don't mean photographically, either! :) I am hoping to see them very early this year, though. thanks for the view and comment.

  16. I don't know how I missed this post. Beautiful!!! What lens did you use for this picture? Do you by any chance know what aperture and shutter speed you used for this picture?
