DAY TEN, Wretched Little Hens!

Okay, I don't know if they are hens or roosters or what they are. They are looking like they could actually blow this phone booth on time, though! They have true feathers, now. They also look like they have ears when they are sitting down. Clarise is very vocal these days, especially if anyone is in the yard. She's got nerve! We don't have to be near her nest, just out of the house and she blats incessantly. She's gone from just aggressive to full on hostile!

  5. Thanks robin, nice to see their growth. I'm impatient too, now, to be
done with the barn swallows. The second batch is almost ready to fly.
Meanwhile, those that have flown keep coming back to urge them on. One
day there wee 25 babies on the roof of the barn chattering away with
each other. When they take off the air is full of swooping wings. They
MUST be having fun--I think their little hearts are exultant. One day
soon they will all gather before taking off for good. That day is full
of unbelievable chatter and gliding and wings everywhere. Then I will
unpeel the barn of all its loaded wrappings and guests can walk through
    without cringing.
