GG, Yes, we DID pig out, that's why the shell heap. Those are Hen clams. Some people call them Surf clams. TEchnically, they are a type of quahog. We dig them in front of our house. They are huge, 5-6" across and way too tough to eat as is. We put them through a meat grinder and make chow'dah. I make the best clam chow'dah this side of the Mississippi. Swear to God!
